Castello d'Empuries

Castello d'Empuries is an administrative center for Empuriabrava and its center is located in 2-3 km inland from the marina. Castello is one of the oldest towns in Catalonia. It has a compact historical center wich may be explored by feet within 30-40 minutes. Visiting the local cathedral of Santa Maria and surrounding streets is a must for those interested in history of Emporda. Tourist Information Office which is located in the building of old prison may provide you with the information on different events in the area.
